Debt renegotiation drive begins today (01)

The main objective of this project is to offer consumers in debt a real chance to reorganize their finances and regain control over their accounts.

The month of November brings good news for those who are facing financial difficulties. The debt renegotiation drive.

This is an initiative that brings together the Brazilian Federation of Banks (Febraban), the Central Bank, the National Consumer Secretariat (Senacon) and Procons from across the country.

The main objective of this project is to offer consumers in debt a real chance to reorganize their finances and regain control over their accounts.

How does the debt renegotiation drive work?

THE debt renegotiation drive will be held throughout the month of November, ending on the 30th. Participants will be able to negotiate debts related to different types of credit, such as credit cards, overdrafts, payroll loans, among other types of financing obtained from banks and financial institutions.

However, debts must be in arrears, without any collateral attached and within the legal validity period.

To facilitate negotiations, participating banks offer a series of special conditions, such as discounts on the total amount of the debt, refinancing with reduced interest and the possibility of installment payments.

It is important to remember that each institution has its own policies and offers, which results in personalized solutions for each financial situation.

Who can participate and how to consult the institutions?

THE debt renegotiation drive is not intended for everyone. Consumers considered to be over-indebted — that is, those who are unable to pay their debts without compromising their own or their family's livelihood — should contact Procon directly for specific guidance.

This audience is protected by Law of Over-indebtedness, which aims to protect your rights and provide differentiated treatment.

To find out which banks are participating in the debt renegotiation drive, simply access the event's official website.

Another important tool is the Registered, a Central Bank system that allows consumers to consult their Loan and Financing Report (SCR) and check debts registered with financial institutions. To use this platform, you must have an account at Gov.br.

Advantages and service channels

The main of the great advantages of debt renegotiation drive is the flexibility offered to consumers.

Negotiations can be carried out directly with the financial institution, using official service channels, or through the portal Consumer.Gov.Br.

To use this platform, you must be registered with Gov.br at the Silver or Gold levels, guaranteeing the security and authenticity of the transaction.
