  • Unemployment insurance 

One of the main benefits for unemployed is unemployment insurance. Its goal is to help cover expenses during this period, helping the individual meet their basic needs while seeking new job placement.

  • Have worked with a signed work card;
  • Have been fired without cause;
  • Not have income to support the family;
  • Not receiving other social security benefits.

In addition to unemployment insurance, the dismissed worker may also have access to the amounts available at the FGTS (FGTS).

This possibility is foreseen No. 8.036 of 1990, which regulates the Time of Service Guarantee Fund.

Another benefit for workers is salary allowance, an annual payment of up to one minimum wage. 

So, to be entitled, the worker must have performed paid for at least 30 days in the base year and have his data informed by the company in the annual social information relationship (RAIS). 

The amount of salary allowance is determined based on the number of months worked during the base year. 

The longer the period of paid activity, the higher the amount to be received by the worker. 

Those who played for 12 months, that is, throughout the year, are entitled to the allowance equivalent to the full value of a minimum wage.

  • Energy Social Tariff

In addition to the benefits for unemployed already mentioned, it is also possible to request the social tariff of electricity as a form of financial relief.

The discount value ranges from 10% to 65%, depending on the family's monthly energy consumption, being applied up to the limit of 220 kWh.

To have access to this social tariff, one of the family members is sufficient to go to the electricity distributor with the following documents:

Full name;
Beneficiary benefit number (NB);
Identification documents, such as CPF and RG.
