How to update CadÚnico: step by step to maintain social benefits

Therefore, keeping your registration up to date is essential for these families to continue enjoying these benefits. So, here's how to update your registration!

Update CadÚnico (Single Registry) is essential, since it is the gateway to several social programs, such as Bolsa Família, Social Electricity Tariff, Minha Casa Minha Vida, among others.

After all, it is a Federal Government instrument that identifies and characterizes low-income families in Brazil, directing social programs towards these people.

Therefore, keeping your registration up to date is essential for these families to continue enjoying these benefits. So, here's how to update your registration!

What is the Single Registry?

CadÚnico is an administrative registry, coordinated by the National Secretariat for Citizen Income (Senarc), of the Ministry of Citizenship, which aims to identify all low-income families in the country.

Therefore, this registry gathers information about the socioeconomic characteristics of these families, such as:

  • Family composition;
  • Income;
  • Expenses;
  • Access to essential public services, among others.

This tool is used by municipalities, which collect data directly from families.

Therefore, any family with a monthly income of up to half the minimum wage per person or a total income of up to three minimum wages can register with CadÚnico.

This way, the government can have a more accurate picture of the reality of these families and, therefore, better direct social programs and policies.

Why update CadÚnico?

Updating CadÚnico is essential so that registered families continue to have access to social benefits offered by the Federal, State and Municipal Governments.

This is because the registered data is used as a criterion for selecting and including families in these programs, such as Bolsa Família, Tarifa Social and others.

Furthermore, every two years, the records must be reviewed and updated.

Therefore, if there is any change in family composition, address or family income, it is necessary to report these changes.

Otherwise, benefits related to CadÚnico may be suspended or even canceled.

Therefore, updating CadÚnico is the best way to ensure that the family continues to receive the benefits to which they are entitled. This avoids disruptions and ensures continued access to social programs.
