Forgotten Money: Check if there are any outstanding amounts for you in 2024

Who can perform the consultation?

The Central Bank (BC) still has approximately R$7.51 billion available in the System of Receivables (SVR). These resources refer to amounts not claimed by customers in banks, financial institutions and cooperatives. In a statement issued in December, the BC reported that, of the total R$12.8 billion earmarked for reimbursement, less than half was actually returned.

According to the latest data from the Central Bank, there are more than 40 million individuals entitled to receive accumulated sums, exceeding R$1.49 billion. In the case of legal entities, more than three million are entitled to recover around R$1.49 billion.

Who can perform the consultation?

The service is available to everyone, including both individuals and legal entities.

Additionally, there is a provision for priority in-person service for the following groups:

  • People with disabilities
  • Elderly people over 60 years old
  • Pregnant women
  • Lactating women
  • People with babies on their laps
  • Obese individuals.

How to check forgotten money

To check if there are amounts available for withdrawal, visit the website: https://valoresareceber.bcb.gov.br/publico.

Additionally, you can check unclaimed funds from deceased family members and begin the process to recover them. On the indicated website, select the option “Check if you have amounts to receive”, fill in the necessary information and click “Check”.

To check forgotten values, follow these steps:

  1. Choose the option “Check amounts receivable” on the Central Bank portal.
  2. Enter your personal information in the fields provided.
  3. Click on “Consult” to check if there are values available for you.
  4. If there are amounts to be received, click on “Access the SVR”. You must have a silver or gold gov.br account to access the SVR.
  5. Note the date provided by the Receivables System. This date is a schedule for checking the amounts and providing information for transfer. The schedule is based on your date of birth, or, in the case of companies, the date the company was founded.
  6. On the scheduled date, access the website Valoresareceber.bcb.gov.br again with your gov.br login to find out the amount available for withdrawal and request the transfer.
  7. If you are unable to access the site on the scheduled date, return to the website Valoresareceber.bcb.gov.br and request new access. The system will inform you of a new date for consultation.

How do I request the recovery of Forgotten Money?

To request the redemption of amounts to be received, first confirm the existence of amounts available in your query and click on the 'Access the SVR' button. Without waiting in line, you will be directed to the gov.br Account login.

    • Access the amounts as an individual or for deceased persons with a silver or gold gov.br Account.
    • For legal entity values, the account must be linked to the company's CNPJ.

You will have 30 minutes to operate in the system, which, according to the Central Bank, is enough time to complete the process, but keep an eye on the clock on the screen.

The redemption process is carried out in the Receivables System, where you must select a PIX key and provide your personal data. Save the generated protocol number for possible future contacts with the institution.

The Central Bank informs that, despite indicating the PIX key, the payment can be made via TED or DOC to the account corresponding to the PIX key.

What is the deadline for paying forgotten amounts?

The deadline for payment of “forgotten money” is up to 12 business days when made via PIX. In other cases, the deadline is established by the financial institution itself, and according to the Central Bank, it is not obliged to make the payment within this period of 12 business days.

Additionally, it is common for the institution to contact you by phone or email to confirm your identity or clarify any doubts about the return method. This is a security measure for both the customer and the institution. It is important to remember to never provide passwords.

If the system indicates the option “Request here” but does not provide a PIX key for selection, it is recommended that you contact the financial institution directly using the means provided to arrange the refund. If you prefer, you can create a PIX key and return to the system to request the amount.

If the system does not show the “Request here” option, the procedure is the same: contact the financial institution to arrange for the refund.

    Beware of scams

The Central Bank issues a warning about potential scams involving the Amounts Receivable service. It is essential to be aware that:
